February 6, 2000 - Peter Mulvey

Peter Mulvey may introduce himself as a singer, and he has a
beautiful, expressive voice and vocal versatility as well. But I was
sold on Mulvey the very first time I heard him touch a guitar; I never
knew one instrument could sound so full and exciting. Once I
recovered from the shock of being in the presence of a guitar god, I
listened to the lyrics and was captured all over again. Yes, that's
right, Peter Mulvey has it all, and over the last couple of years it's
been a delight to listen as he has continued to mature as a writer
and performer.

We are thrilled to welcome Peter back to the Nest this year, and
eager to hear familiar tunes as well as songs from his new CD, The
Trouble with Poets, to be released in April. Peter invariably gives
his all to a performance, and hearing him in the intimate setting of
a living room, without amplification, is a very special experience.
We expect "incomparable sideman" David (Goody) Goodrich, to
join Peter for this show on acoustic mandolin.

Every show with Peter and Goody is different. Come out and hear
Peter's new music, and find out what's been on his mind, this
Sunday night, February 6th, 2000.

Doors open at 7; show starts at 7:30. Dessert and coffee served at
the break. Donation for the artist is $10, reservations required.
Contact rbhoff@voicenet.com or 609-799-1018. Cats roam the
premises. No recording, photography, or smoking permitted.

Someone offered Descartes a cup of tea.
He said, "I think not." And disappeared.
