SongshopsCoop is proud to present Wake Up & Dream! A Songwriting Retreat,
Memorial Day Weekend (May 26th-28th, 2000) at the Wisdom
House in Litchfield CT. (100 miles from NYC, 130 Miles from Boston, 30
miles from Hartford, 105 miles from Providence) (See detailed discription
below of the facility or look on the website for a picture of where we will
stay.)
We are excited to announce that our 1st confirmed teacher is
Jason Blume. Jason is one of the few songwriters to have had charted hits in
Country, Pop & Rap all at the same time! He also has a new book out, 6 Steps
to Songwriting Success (Billboard Books). Jason currently has cuts with
Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, the #1 and #2 artists worldwide. Blume’s
song, “Change My Mind,” was a top 5 Country single for John Berry & was
awarded a prestigious ASCAP Award for being one of the most performed songs
of the year. (To read more about Jason http://www.songshopscoop.com Memorial
Day Retreat or Other Events/Music Links).
Jason is looking forward to teaching you about how to accomplish your
songwriting goals. He says, "If I teach you only one thing, this weekend,
it's that your songwriting dreams can come true. If mine can, so can yours!"
We need your help to make decisions on staffing & rental of the
facility. (If enough people attend, we will have the retreat to
ourselves.) Other top notch potential staff are being contacted. (Staff to
participant ratio 1:20 or 1:25 participants). We will have 2 or 3 additional
hit
songriters (I can't announce their names yet, but will shortly) on the
teaching staff depending on the number of people who let us know that they
hope to make the event.
If you do not have plans yet for Memorial Day Weekend & would like to
attend, please visit the site at http://www.songshopscoop.com/, read
about the event & fill out the questionaire with the "Retreat
Pre-registration"
prompt. This is not a binding agreement, no payments are necessary yet
(We will request a deposit when more details are available about the
staff.), we just need help estimating how many staff we need & how much space
to reserve.
To help you in your decision making process, the costs will be:
Early Bird registration (before March, 15th) $235
After March, 15th $285
(Registration includes shared room (2-3 per room) & board & all workshops,
Fri evening to Sunday lunch) ($20 additional for a private room, space
permitting).
Optional Sunday night bed & breakfast arrangement for is available (for
approximately $50-$60 (depending on the number of people interested)).
People can opt to stay, relax, explore quaint Litchfield, CT, finish a
collaboration or get a private consult on Monday. (Sunday Dinner & lunch
Monday in town on our own. Check out by noon on Monday)
Private Consults: A limited number of private consults will be available &
need to be pre-arranged on Sunday afternoon/evening or Monday morning (after
the retreat officially ends) or Friday morning/afternoon (before the retreat
starts) for an additional fee paid directly to the teachers.
Even if you aren't sure yet if you can attend this retreat & would like
to be on our mailing list, volunteer to help &/or receive updates about this
&/or future retreats, please fill out the "Retreat Pre-registration" survey
accordingly.
In the next week or so, we will e-mail you updates on additional
staff, the schedule of the retreat & detailed information on the payment
schedule. If enough people would use their Visa card online, we will add this
new option.
            Thanks for your prompt feedback!
                Barbara
