Hi All,

I've been lurking for ages (used to contribute regularly, but life
commitments switched me to a more casual reader a few years ago) but haven't
noticed more than a passing mention of the internet radio boom. I was
wondering if people are using it and what stations they are "tuning" in? It
seems like it might be a great thing for genres that are somewhat on the
margin (like folk!). So.. what are people listening to via web?

Thanks,
David Elbert

[Alan sez: I posted a while ago the URL to the page of Internet Radio links
that I'm aware of at http://alan.lpl.org/NetRadio.html it has since
been updated with a couple more links. I want to put up an MP3 page, but
it's all changing so fast and I haven't had the time to pursue it. For
right now, the best place to start is http://www.mp3.com It's a brave new
world out there. I saw a great example of cutting edge internet radio last
week when I was in Boston for the NACA conference. Set your browser to
http://www.radioboston.com and you'll be presented with up to six channels of
audio AND video including high quality live concert feeds from the Kendall Cafe and
Cambridges legendary Passim as well as in studio programming with DJs featuring
the best music by New England area artists. Also our listhost Tom Neff has a
web musicast going on too, but I'm on the road and don't have the URL handy. I couldn't find a link to it from the grassyhill.org page.]
