I resolved it by deciding that I won't listen to WUMB anymore! One of the

I have just tried WUMB and I only have a 56 connection also;
and I am using winamp.
You don't have to download java or javascript - just be sure it
is enabled on your browser - and since I always try everything
first and then figure out why I _____ up it must already be "on"
on my browser so there was no problem. However, the problem
seems to be with the fact that you have to keep the site window OPEN
at all times to keep it streaming and if you're working on your computer
it's easy to lose the window. I resolved that by getting angry and
sliding the window off my screen, out of site to the left. It is now
working just fine....:-) The window says that it must stay open so
the DJ can communicate with the listener...maybe WUMB plans
to do this in the future.
I copied this from the site - hope it helps - please don't give up on
WUMB...:-) If someone like me (an AOL member) can figure this
out I'm sure anyone can;-)
"To enable Java and Javascript:
In Netscape, go to Edit/Preferences, click on (don't expand) advanced, and
you will see check boxes for Enable Java and Enable Javascript.
In IE, go to View/Internet Options, click on advanced, and make sure all the
Multimedia options are enabled, and the Java VM JIT compiler option is
enabled.
You also have to permit TCP connections to port 9405 through your firewall."
