OK, so I suppose I'll mention this one, since it's within guidelines. :)
We're busy as can be in Black Mountain NC getting ready for a big party
Friday night at the Grey Eagle in Asheville to celebrate the release of my
sixth record, Corners. I'm excited about the recording, which was produced
by Evan Brubaker and recorded primarily in Seattle. There are all kinds of
cool guests on the record, including Michael Manring (fretless bass deity),
Hans Teuber (saxman for Ani diFranco) and Keith Lowe (currently touring on
bass with Fiona Apple) but I won't go too deep into that, since it's all on
the web site if you'd like to read more (http://www.davidlamotte.com).
Directions to the club and such are there too.
As for the party, it's at 8:30 this Friday in Asheville and it's free. The
band will include Don Porterfield, Joe Ebel, Christine Kane, Kristin deWitt,
Beth Wood, Chris Rosser, Jay Hoots and Mike Alexander, many of whom are also
on the record. We will play through the album in sequence live, then put the
CD on the stellar Grey Eagle sound system and eat the copious amounts of food
that will be provided free too. Hope some of you will be able to help us
celebrate. Thanks for the bandwidth! :)

[Alan sez: I've only had a chance to listen once to "Corners", but my first impression of it was excellent. The songwriting was strong, as were the performances. David's voice is warm and inviting in that sort of James Taylor, David Wilcox kind of way and I found the lyrics interesting and the melodies memorable. I hope to give a better review down the pike, but I thought I'd toss my two cents in before the release concert.]
