[FM] Juried Showcase at the Ontario Council of Folk Festivals Annual Fall Conference

JURIED SHOWCASES AT THE ANNUAL OCFF CONFERENCE. Following the repeated
questions about "How can I get the attention of the Artistic
Directors?" the OCFF introduced a juried showcase at the fall
conference. This is an opportunity which should not be missed by any
individual or group who wants to be noticed. Past years' showcase
winners have since played at many festivals across Ontario. To apply,
simply follow the guidelines below. If selected, you will get to
display your talents for 25 minutes during the weekend of the 1999
Conference to be held in Barrie, Ontario on October 27, 28 and 29,
2000. 


TO APPLY: 


Applications will be accepted without restrictions from across Canada,
the United States and elsewhere. Applicants will accompany their
submission with a $20.00 fee, $10.00 for members of the OCFF (see
appliction below become a member.  Applications to be accepted must be
post-marked no later than July 31, 2000. Applications WILL NOT be
accepted from video or vinyl. C.D. or cassette only and must highlight
only 3 preferred songs. Press kits WILL NOT be accepted. One sheet bios
only. 


The jury will meet mid-September. Nine slots will be selected with five
alternates, with no proviso for program inclusion.

1. CD or cassette (no vinyl or video) with 3 songs highlighted. For
cassettes, the first 3 tracks will be reviewed. 

2. A one sheet bio and a photo. No press kits please. 

3. Stage plot, tech requirements 

4. $20 fee, or $10 for OCFF members 

5. Stamped self-addressed packaging if you wish to have your materials
returned
