Hi All,
Many, many thanks for all of the great support this month with 2 sell-out
concerts for Priscilla Herdman and what is now close to a sell-out for Tony
McManus (3 seats left)!
Presenting the last in my marathon of April concerts...
Bob Fox will be performing a concert at my house on Sunday, April 29th!
Bob is an incredible singer from the North East of England. This will be
Bob's first tour of the US, and it'll be terrific to have him here. Bob
has a wonderful voice and a great choice of material. His repertoire is
split between traditional music and contemporary songs written by others
(including "Slip Jigs & Reels" by Steve Tilston and "Greek Lightening" by
Jez Lowe). I've never seen Bob live, but I was sold on the basis of a
concert tape that he sent me. I *really* wanted to be there! Bob recently
spent a over a month touring England with Fairport Convention as their
special guest.
A text copy of the concert flyer is attached at the end of this message.
For reservations, prepayment (to select seats ahead of time), & directions,

McManus (4/15 - only 3 seats left), Ben Sands (5/6), Saffron Summerfield

Thanks for your continued support!

BOB FOX,
singer from North East England,
will be performing at
a House Concert
in BERKELEY
on Sunday, April 29th
at 7:30PM
First trip to the US for this wonderful English singer of traditional &
contemporary song!
Although this will be Bob Fox's first trip to the US, he is no stranger to
the British folk scene. This year marks his 25th year as a professional
folk singer/musician. He has a gorgeous voice and has an incredible talent
for breathing new life into traditional songs and for coming up with
wonderful arrangements of contemporary songs, frequently with a bit of a
folk-rock edge. This tour celebrates the release of his new solo CD.
Bob started his career performing as a duo with Tom McConville, and
subsequently formed a duo with Stu Luckley. Bob and Stu's partnership
resulted in 3 highly praised albums, the first of which was voted Folk
Roots Folk Album of the Year. Bob was also the singer/keyboard player in
the Celtic Band "The Rub" and in the Vin Garbutt Band. Bob has been Folk
Artist in Residence for the District of Blyth Valley and Music Development
Worker for Easington District Council. Along with Benny Graham, he
produced a CD and slide show celebrating the rich and varied culture of the
coal mining communities of Durham and Northumberland. Bob (solo or with
Stu) has played festivals and venues throughout the UK, including
Cambridge, Cropredy, Edinburgh, Fylde, Cornwall, and has been a support
artist on major British tours for Fairport Convention, Richard & Linda
Thompson, and Ralph McTell.
______________
"Fox has always been one of the scene's superior singers and his voice is
as confident and ebullient as ever." Colin Irwin, Folk Roots Magazine
" and from Bob Fox, surely one of the great voices of the whole of the
Folk Revival, several definitive performances of some great songs." John
Muirhead, Living Tradition Magazine
"Bob is blessed with one of the best voices you will ever hear, he is also
a very talented musician playing guitar, piano and dulcimer. Add to that a
full and varied repertoire of traditional and modern songs and plenty of
good 'crack' and you can be sure of a good night." Terri Freeman, Davylamp
Folk Club
