[FM] suggestion for concert

I'm looking for a suggestion from some listers for a performer to do a folk
concert. We are located in a small town in upstate Pa and I want someone
who'll not only appeal to the die-hard folkies but to the rest of the
population as well. I also would like a performer with name recognition
and draw- for this, our first folk concert. We're sponsored by our Parks &
Rec dept and have been having concerts and festivals for the past 11 years,
but this is the first folk concert we're doing. We want a quality
performance and an entertaining performer.
This concert will be scheduled for mid Oct. I think I'd prefer, although
it's not a deal breaker, to have more than one performer- maybe a main
performer with an accompanying
instrument or two. In other words, I'd prefer and band or duo or trio then
a single...if possible.
I must admit, I'm somewhat out of the loop with folk music today...I'm more
familiar with the folk music of the 60's. Any constructive opinions would
be appreciated.
Thanks,
Debbie Rubin
