[FM] Pacific Folk Rock

Greetings from Hawaii! I haven't heard much about folk music from the
islands -- so I thought I'd share with everyone an artist I discovered
over the holidays. The album is American Soul and the talent is Dave Brier
(who lives in Hawaii). The song "Surfing Under the Full Moon" is pacific
folk music. You don't have to be lying on the beach, however to enjoy the
music on  this album. As Dave says on his web page (www.davebrier.com) his
songs were created with "the American spirit in mind." I agree. He doesn't
just sing about waves but about the prairie, motorcycles, the city --
American Soul. Dave also won the 2000 Na Hoku Award (Hawaii's Grammys) for
"Best Rock Album of the Year." Warm up your winter with some pacific folk
music!
