The first thing you should do is pick up a free copy of the Austin
Chronicle when you hit town. It is available just about anywhere. It is also
available on-line if you want to check it out in advance. Then just peruse
all the club listings and ads and look for artists you like or admire. You
will find plenty, I am sure.
My favorite place for acoustic music is Cactus Cafe on the University of
Texas campus, but it just depends on the days you are there and who is
appearing where. But do get the Austin Chronicle--it is a superb resource for
where to go in Austin to hear great music.
