Hey folks! I blinked my eyes and the summer is upon us. It's festival
season again and the Big Orange Tarp will once again be travelling
around the country to some of the coolest festivals there are.
Last weekend in July we'll be at Falcon Ridge and on the same site
one week later for the Winterhawk Bluegrass and Beyond Festival. I'll
also be in Lyons, CO once again for Song School and the Rocky
Mountain Folks Festival.
We have quite a few folks who camp with us every year (especially at
Falcon Ridge), but we are always happy to welcome new folks to join
us. As members of this email list, y'all are cordially invited. It's
a great way to enjoy the festival, especially for first timers,
because you'll be hanging out with a bunch of friends who know their
way around. In addition to providing a shady place in the campground
to hang out and share meals, the tarp comes alive at night with some
of the best music you've ever heard. It's a pretty magical place.
We are also VERY "kid-friendly". We LOVE kids and had a bunch of
minievents for them at Falcon Ridge last year including kids concerts
from Christopher Smith and Vanessa Trien and an absolutely amazing
percussion workshop from the multitalented earth mother, Annie Wenz.
We hope to have even more cool stuff for kids this year.
For more info, you can visit our web page online at
http://www.bigorangetarp.com or drop a note to Carl Pelton at
stumpelton@toad.net We also have an online mailing list for Falcon
Ridge campers at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BOT-FRFF/ A web server
crash has my FRFF photos from last year offline, but there are some
photos from the previous year up at
http://www.alanrowoth.com/Album-FRFF2k.shtml
We hope to see you all there. Please join us!
There are similar camping groups, albeit smaller for Winterhawk and
Rocky Mountain. We'd love to have you join us for those events too!
Let us know!
Alan
P.S. Also the Peltons and I plan on attending this year's Country
Roads festival on the weekend of July 21, sans tarp. It looks like a
fantastic event. Look for me in my Big Orange T-Shirt and say hi!
