English singer Damien Barber is passing through Boston and we've talked him
into doing a concert at our house. Many of you may remember Damien from his
performance at New Bedford Summerfest a couple of years ago or from a concert
he did for the Folk Song Society of Greater Boston. If you've not run into
Damien before he is one of the most important voices in Traditional English
folk song and the power, passion and freedom of his singing recalls no less
than Peter Bellemy. And he's a great guy to spend a couple of hours with.

Here's the deal. We're planning on Sunday, February 2nd at 2 PM. Based on
the run of weather that we've been having we've got a snow date of Monday
Evening at 8. And if enough folks can't make the Sunday show but could do the
Monday, we may add a second show. Please let us know as soon as possible.

More details: Concert is in Somerville, MA. Free parking. We'll be glad to
shuttle people from Lechmere Station and Davis Square. Light refreshments
will be served. (Yeah, I'll probably repeat the cheesecakes from the Pete
Morton concert. Enough of you have asked.) Admission is $10 and all of it
goes to Damian. We're calling it the "Send This Boy to Folk Alliance" fund.

Call 617-776-7666 for reservation or more information. Or email
dave.palmater@umb.edu.
