It's only five days until the first concert here at Southern Crescent House
Concerts in Ellenwood, GA. We're really excited about hosting Folk
singer/songwriter Mike Williams from Nashville this coming Saturday,
February 1, 2003 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM.. I first met Mike at the Kerrville
Folk Festival two years ago. He's a perennial Kerrvert and can usually be
found on the stage or around a campfire throughout the festival. Mike was
one of the performers who honored us with by sharing at my mother's memorial
service. You can see his CD's and listen to some of his cuts at
http://www.songramp.com/homepage.ez?Who=mikewilliams Mike will also be
opening the 9:30 PM show for Cigar Store Indians
http://www.cigarstoreindians.com at EDDIE"S ATTIC
http://www.eddiesattic.com/ Friday, January 31. Tickets can be purchased
for that show in advance online at Eddie's website for $12.
"A veteran of 200 clubs and 500 college concerts, Mike sings with a power
that whisks you away to places of delight. His original songs look you
right in the eye. They remind you of your first dance, tales your
grandmother spun, loves youve won and lost. Mikes warm baritone voice is
an arm around your shoulder, coaxing you to smile. That honest voice has
seen the world. You cant fake a voice like that. Theres heart in every
note" Songramp.com

HOUSE CONCERTS: If you've never attended a House Concert there is a wealth
of information on them at http://www.houseconcerts.com/

RESERVATIONS: We have limited seating in our home (about 30) so in order to
get directions I need you to reply with the number of folks who'll be coming
and where you will be coming from. I will send directions by Friday noon.
Please reply as soon as possible and no later than Friday Noon. ps. We're
new at this so if you have a folding chair please bring it as we have
seating for about a dozen currently. Children can sit on the floor if
that's agreeable with you.

SUGGESTED DONATION: As is customary on the House Concert Circuit we'll be
taking a collection for Mike to help defray his expenses. All monies
collected will go to the artist. Suggested donation is $8-$15 for adults
and $5 for children over 12. Mike will also have copies of his CD's
available for purchase.

CHILDREN: If your child is well behaved we would love to have them come.
We have a toddler and an infant so will have our hands full with them. If
you bring children, you're responsible for their conduct and for ensuring
they don't detract from the experience for the others present. We will have
a room set aside for your use if necessary.

REFRESHMENTS: There will be limited refreshments available at the break.

SMOKING: We are a non-smoking venue. However considerate smokers will be
accommodated on the front porch.

PARKING: There is limited parking in the drive. Depending on the weather
and ground conditions we can park some in the "lower 40". I'll try to have
someone available to direct you. However if you park in the drive you will
need to plan to leave soon after we're through as it's one lane. ;>) There
is also room along the road to park.
