Don Osburn of Nova Scotia has just released his first recording, 'Small
Fine Pleasures' on his own Versability Music label. Produced by Juno winner
Ken Whiteley, and recorded at his Casa Wroxton studio in Toronto, the
album's 14 songs (wait for the unlisted "Uncle Billy's Voodoo Jerk Slather")
cover a range of angst-free folk, country, blues, and a dab of gospel. All
songs are self-penned, half are co-writes with his wife, Anna.
David Pirie, the host of 'Maple Haggis' on CHSR FM in Fredericton, New
Brunswick said "This release is full of heart, imagination and unwavering
respect for the songwriting tradition, it stands tall with great vocals,
instrumentation and production and holds your interest." All in one
sentence - what more could one ask for in a review? Or this from Atlantic
Gig Magazine's Feb. 15th issue - "Great. Amazing. A fine work. These are
but a few of the words I can think of to describe this recording"
